Privacy policy

This policy explains how WorkWords Content handles your personal information.

We follow the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If anything below is unclear, ask us and we will explain it.

The short version

1

We collect only what we need to do the work, invoice for it and stay in touch.

2

We never sell your information. We share it only where the law requires it, or with the suppliers who help us deliver a service you have asked for.

3

You can ask to see it, correct it or have it deleted at any time. Email admin@workwords.com.au and we will respond within two business days.

What we collect

When you visit our website, contact us or work with us, we may collect:

  • your name, business name and role
  • your email address, phone number and postal or billing address
  • billing and payment details
  • your IP address and approximate location
  • survey responses, support enquiries, blog comments and social media handles

We call all of this personal information.

Our services are for businesses, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we find that we have, we will delete it promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and think your child has given us their details, please contact us.

How we use it

Information that identifies you

We use your personal information to deliver our services. That means talking to you about your project, answering questions, letting you know about updates, sharing content you have asked for, checking you are happy with the work, fixing problems and tailoring your experience of our website.

We only send marketing if you have asked for it. You can opt out at any time by unsubscribing or emailing us, and we will action it straight away.

Information that does not identify you

We also use aggregated, anonymised information to run and improve the business: administering the website, producing reports and analytics, promoting our services and understanding what our clients need.

Anything you post publicly stays public

Blog comments and testimonials on our website can be seen by anyone. If you later remove them, copies may still appear in cached or archived pages elsewhere, or wherever someone has copied or saved them. We cannot control that.

How we store and protect it

Secure storage

We take all reasonable steps to protect your information while it is in our control, and store it on secure servers.

Overseas transfers

Some of our suppliers store data outside Australia. We only use providers in countries with comparable privacy protections.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it to serve you, meet our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

If our security is breached and your personal information is compromised, we will notify you promptly, as the law requires.

Cookies and pixels

A cookie is a small file placed in your browser that records how you use a website. Cookies let a site remember your preferences. They do not read anything else stored on your computer, and they do not collect your name, address, email or phone number.

Most browsers accept cookies automatically. You can refuse them in your browser settings, but some parts of our website may not work properly if you do.

We use cookies to measure website traffic, enable social sharing and improve the experience of using the site. Cookies and tracking pixels may also be used to show you our ads through third-party services such as Google Ads and Meta. Those ads may appear on our website or on other sites you visit.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or trade your personal information. We never have and we never will.

We share your details with a third party only when:

  • the law requires it
  • it is needed to deliver a product or service you have bought
  • it is needed to process a payment
  • we need to protect our copyright, trade marks or other legal rights

Where we do share information with a supplier, they must meet the privacy standards set out in this policy and comply with the law. Our contracts stop them using your information for anything other than the purpose we shared it for.

When we may have to disclose it

From time to time we may need to disclose information, including personal information, to meet a legal requirement — a law, regulation, court order, subpoena or warrant, or as part of legal proceedings or a request from a law enforcement agency. We may also use it to protect the rights, property or safety of WorkWords Content, our clients or others.

If control of the business changes hands — through a merger, sale or transfer of assets — client information, which may include your personal information, could pass to the buyer under a confidentiality agreement.

We would only disclose your personal information in good faith and where one of the circumstances above applies.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you
  • correct or update it
  • delete it, where we are not required to keep it
  • stop sending you marketing

Email admin@workwords.com.au and we will action your request.

If you are not happy with our response

Contact us first so we can put it right. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Links to other websites

Our website links to other sites for your convenience. A link is not a sponsorship, endorsement or approval. We are not responsible for how those sites handle privacy, so read their privacy statements before you give them your details. This policy covers only the information collected by this website.

Changes to this policy

We keep this policy current, so it will change from time to time. We may update it at any time, and changes take effect as soon as we post them here. Check back occasionally to see where things stand.
